もっとも重要な一つなのは最初の面接です。
Today we’ll give you some tips on how to prepare for an interview with an English speaking company.
今日は英語を使う会社での面接の準備の仕方でのアドバイスをシェアしたいと思います。
Often the interview has decided whether or not to hire the candidate within the first minute.
面接の最初の1分で雇うか雇わないかは決められるのです。
This is good news because you don’t have to worry so much about speaking English perfectly if you can give a great first impression.
これはとても良いことです！なぜなら最高な第一印象を与えれば、英語を完璧に話すことを心配しなくていいからです。
1. Be Confident
1.自信を持つ
This is so important.
これはとても大切です。
If you are not confident, the manager won’t feel confident in hiring you.
自信がなければ、上司もあなたのことを雇う自信を感じなくなるからです。
Even if you are nervous or not confident in your English speaking ability, take some time before the interview to get a confidence boost.
もし緊張していても、自分の英語の能力に自信がなくても、自信をもつために時間をつくってください。

Speak loudly and clearly.
大きな声ではっきりと話しましょう。
If you didn’t understand something, say “sorry I didn’t catch that”, rather than just saying “yes”.
もしなにかわからなかったら「はい。」と答えるのではなく、「すみません、あまり聞き取れませんでした」と言いましょう。
The hiring manager knows that English isn’t most peoples first language so they are not expecting you to be perfect.
人事部も英語が母国語でないことを知っているのであなたに完璧でないと思っているので大丈夫です。
2. Ask Questions
2.質問をする
Try not to reply just “yes” or “no” but answer with full sentences and ask your own questions in reply.
「はい」や「いいえ」で返答するのではなく、文章で答えて自分の質問も考えましょう。
For example if they say the salary will be ¥400,000 / month, don’t just say OK, but ask a question in return such as “does that include a bonus” etc.
例えば、給料が月に４０万円と言ったら、ただ「OK」というのではなく返しに「それはボーナスが含まれますか？」など質問をしましょう。
When you ask questions it shows you understand the question and are taking initiative.
あなたが質問をするとき、あなたがそのことを理解してそして自ら行動をとっていることになります。
3. Ask For The Job
3.その仕事に就きたいと言う
The culture at an international company is a little different than a normal Japanese company.
外資系の会社の文化は普通の日系の会社とは少し違います。
Actually most foreign companies will be waiting for the candidate to ask for the job.
外資系企業は立候補者がその仕事に就きたいと言うのを待っている場合がほとんどです。
If you leave without asking, they often will think you didn’t want the job badly enough.
もし言わずに終わらせてしまったら、その仕事をあまり就きたくないと思ってしまいます。
You could say something like “So, how did I go?” or “When do I start?”.
なので「私はどうでしたか？」や「いつ勤務開始できますか？」などを言ってみましょう。
Don’t worry if it seems over confident, in most foreign companies they will take this as a sign you are very keen to start.
もしかしたら自信あり過ぎに聞こえてしまうかもしれませんが、外資系企業にとっては、あなたがその仕事にどうしても就きたいということが見えるので大丈夫です。
